Role purpose:

The role reports to the Senior Econometric Modeler. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of econometric models which measure the impact of marketing activities across a range of geographies and media (television, press, radio, print, social ,paid search, etc.). The successful candidate will have experience with designing, building and implementing statistical marketing mix models/multiple regression to addresses key business questions. The successful candidate will be part of a team of very talented econometricians enabling Paddy Power Betfair to plan, measure, test and optimise marketing across several European markets.

The successful candidate will have a passion for research and learning and will contribute to developing and improving our approach to econometric modelling.

Agile, collaborative and a team player; the successful candidate will be comfortable on a fast paced team, working closely with multiple business functions and relentlessly committed to ongoing marketing strategy development.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of MMM deliverables for a number of European markets on an on-going basis
  • Working closely with relevant data owners to ensure that all appropriate data is collected, validated and transformed for modelling
  • Comfortable with managing multiple work streams and driving consistent best in class delivery of statistical modelling techniques within the marketing department.
  • Project management of BAU objectives and also exploring new techniques/methods
  • Liaising regularly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring that comprehensive & clear documentation is maintained
  • Work with marketing insight colleagues to streamline capabilities in terms of analysis & reporting
  • Address ad hoc queries in a timely, supportive manner from colleagues in marketing/finance/commercial/data teams

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a data driven environment delivering insight and/or reporting
  • Experience and deep understanding of econometric modelling/ marketing mix models (MMM)
  • Honours Degree qualification in a quantitative field e.g. Math, Stat, Physics, Actuary, Economics (ideally MSc or PhD)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate model results and learnings clearly & succinctly
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
  • Expert user of data analysis/statistical application e.g. R, python, SAS, SPSS etc.
  • Knowledge of Sportsbetting, Exchange, Gaming or Social gaming businesses a bonus
  • Knowledge of marketing concepts and media capabilities preferred
  • Experience with tableau (or equivalent data viz tool) a bonus
